- Geog 3140 (3) – Introduction to GIS (QI)* (prerequisite for GIS courses)
- CS 1021 (3) – Introduction to Programming in Java, or other Computer Science prerequisite or choice course
First Year – Spring Semester
- Geog 3020 (3) – Geographical Analysis (QI)**
- Geog 5/6140 (4) – Methods in Geographic Information Systems**
- Computer Science prerequisite or choice course (if needed)
Second Year – Fall Semester
- Geog 5/6150 (4) – Principles of Cartography*
- Computer Science prerequisite or choice course (if needed)
Second Year – Spring Semester
- Geog 5/6160 (3) – Spatial Modeling with GIS**
- Computer Science choice course (if needed)
NOTE: If starting Spring semester, enroll in GEOG 3020 Geographical Analysis** and whatever Computer Science prerequisite or choice course is offered, then join the above program Fall semester.

- CS 1410 Introduction to Computer Science I - CS 1010 Intro to UNIX and Math 1210 Calculus I
- CS 2000 Introduction to Program Design in C - CS 1010 Intro to UNIX and Math 1210 Calculus I
Geography:
- Geog 3020 - Math 1030 Intro to Quantitative Reasoning, 1050 College Algebra, or equivalent
